Title: Nationwide Power Outage as National Grid Collapses Again Date Published: 10 September 2025 Description: Nigeria was plunged into darkness on Wednesday following another collapse of the national electricity grid, disrupting power supply across several states and affecting millions of customers.The latest grid failure, which occurred at about 11:23 a.m. on September 10, 2025, was confirmed in separate statements issued by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) and the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED).AEDC explained that the outage resulted from a “loss of supply from the national grid,” affecting all its franchise areas. The company assured customers that it was working with relevant stakeholders to restore power once the grid is stabilised.Similarly, PHED informed its customers across Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states that the outage was due to a complete loss of supply from transmission stations.
