The prison accommodate over 1,500 inmates, with very few Christians and less than 10 percent of inmates and staff that communicate with English. The majority of inmate and warders speaks Hausa, Fulani, and Buzu, with unreported prevalence of homosexuality among inmates.Justice Kolawole Omotosho while delivering the sentence specifically recommended a protective custody due to the sensitivity of his case. And as such Nnamdi Kanu is to be kept in Special Custody Condition, a kind of prison inside a prison, a sector for tough criminals and restricted movement, far away from family, friends and associates.
