Title: Fubara Attends APC Strategy Committee as Party Moves to Strengthen Unity Date Published: 20 January 2026 Description: Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Monday attended the inaugural meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation.The high-powered committee was constituted by the party and inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in December, to address internal disputes, strengthen cohesion and confront emerging threats to the stability of the ruling party. It is chaired by the Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni.Other members of the committee include Governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, Bassey Otu of Cross River State, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.Also serving on the committee are Senator Adamu Aliero; the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari. Muiz Banire (SAN) is the Secretary of the committee.Speaking at the inauguration of the committee in December, Governor Buni said its mandate includes strategic engagement and extensive consultations aimed at fostering inclusive and sustainable solutions within the party.He explained that the committee would work to ensure that both old and new members, particularly those who feel aggrieved, are given a renewed sense of belonging, while also taking proactive steps to prevent threats to party unity.Governor Buni further urged committee members to place the collective interest of the APC above personal ambitions or sentiments, stressing that party cohesion remains critical to its continued success.
