He later served as Chairman of the bank from 2011 until 2013.According to the President, Chief Ogbue brought dignity, strategic foresight and principled leadership to UBA at a critical period in its transformation, contributing significantly to the bank’s growth and stability.The late banker was also the father of Dr Awele Elumelu, wife of UBA Group Chairman Tony Elumelu.President Tinubu extended his condolences to the Elumelu family and other members of the Ogbue family, as well as the Board, management and staff of UBA.He acknowledged widespread tributes celebrating the exemplary life of the late UBA Chairman, describing him as a devoted family man, committed public servant and a man of faith who lived modestly and dedicated his resources and experience to serving the church, the poor, the vulnerable and his community.The President prayed that God Almighty would grant eternal rest to the departed patriarch and comfort his family and all those mourning his passing.
