Title: IGP Assigns Portfolios to Eight Newly Decorated DIGs Date Published: 11 March 2026 Description: The Nigeria Police Force has assigned portfolios to the eight newly decorated Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs).The postings followed their decoration on Monday by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, who urged the senior officers to demonstrate courage and decisiveness in the discharge of their duties.The IGP also reminded the officers of the responsibilities that accompany their new rank, stressing the need for professionalism and dedication in the management of key departments within the force.Sources within the police hierarchy said the assignments were made based on the officers’ areas of competence and experience.According to the postings, DIG Zachariah Fera Achinyan has been deployed to Legal Services, while DIG Zango Ibrahim Baba will head the Department of Research and Planning.DIG Isyaku Mohammed has been assigned to Training and Development.Similarly, DIG Margaret Agebe Ochalla will oversee the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), while DIG Mohammed Abdul Sulaiman takes charge of Finance and Accounts.DIG Kenechukwu Onwuemelie has been posted to head the Force Intelligence Department (FID), while DIG Fayoade Adegoke will supervise the Information and Communication Technology Department.Also, DIG Umar Shehu Nadada has been deployed to head the Operations Department.
