The blast not only damaged the critical bridge linking Luma, Babana and Agwara communities, but also claimed lives when a vehicle unknowingly ran into the device.Sources said the affected bridge serves as a major route for residents, particularly those travelling to the popular Babana border market, which holds every Monday and attracts traders from surrounding communities.It was further gathered that the vehicle, conveying passengers from Nuku to Woro, triggered the explosive, killing all seven passengers and the driver on board.Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, said the bridge was bombed around 2:00 a.m. by suspected terrorists operating within the forest area.According to him, the command received a report of the incident at about 6:30 a.m., noting that the explosion caused significant damage to the bridge during ongoing security operations in the area.Abiodun added that security agencies have intensified clearance operations, while monitoring efforts continue to ensure the safety of residents and prevent further attacks.
