Title: APC Convention: FG Shuts Roads, Directs Abuja Workers to Stay Home Date Published: 27 March 2026 Description: The Federal Government has directed civil servants working within the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).The directive was conveyed in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.According to the circular, all access roads leading to and around the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phases I, II and III, will be closed from Friday, March 27, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.The government explained that the measure is necessitated by the use of Eagle Square as the venue for the APC national convention.As a result, all personnel in ministries, extra-ministerial departments, agencies, and offices located within the affected areas, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been directed to work remotely on the specified date.Heads of ministries, departments, and agencies have also been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the directive.The move is part of security and traffic management arrangements as the ruling party prepares to host its national convention, expected to draw leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the country.
