The Federal Government has outlined significant achievements under President Bola Tinubu\'s administration, emphasizing that his leadership is marked by independence, bold reforms, and people-focused initiatives.
Major Infrastructure and Economic Initiatives
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, speaking at the APC National Summit in Abuja themed “Renewed Hope Agenda: The Journey So Far,” detailed several landmark projects and policies driven by Tinubu’s administration. He noted that the President inherited a nation at a crossroads and responded with decisive actions.
Key reforms include:
Subsidy Removal: Tinubu’s early move to eliminate petrol and foreign exchange subsidies has redirected billions previously lost to inefficiency toward productive investments.
Infrastructure Boom:
Four signature highways are underway: Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, Calabar-Abuja Superhighway, and Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe Highway — totaling over 2,600km.
The Kano-Kaduna Standard Gauge Railway, part of the broader Lagos-Kano railway modernization project, is advancing regional integration.
Sectoral Highlights
Housing: The Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Projects aim to tackle housing deficits while generating jobs and rejuvenating urban areas.
Digital Economy: Deployment of 90,000km of fiber optic cable to boost broadband access, support smart governance, and attract tech investment.
Education & Credit Access:
Over 300,000 students are benefitting from the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
Workers are accessing essential goods through a new Consumer Credit Scheme.
Security Improvements:
Thousands of terrorists and bandits have been neutralized or arrested.
Nearly 10,000 hostages rescued.
Over 25 new military aircraft and four new naval vessels acquired.
Administrative Innovations:
Creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development.
Establishment of Regional Development Commissions across all six geo-political zones.
Leadership Style and Allegation Response
Minister Idris strongly refuted claims that President Tinubu is being controlled by a “cabal” within his government.
“You need to study the president very well. You can have your voice; you can say what you want to say; he will listen to you, but his decision is ultimately his own,” Idris stated, affirming Tinubu’s independent and consultative leadership approach.
He reiterated that the Renewed Hope Agenda is a bold, transformative, and people-first blueprint aimed at unlocking Nigeria’s full potential and overcoming long-standing obstacles.
“True leadership involves the ability to make decisions
