In a major breakthrough against sea piracy, Royal Fouche Security Services Ltd., also known as the Amama Soldiers, has successfully rescued 19 passengers abducted by sea pirates along the Isaka River while en route to Bille, Rivers State.

The hostages, held in captivity for 21 days, were kidnapped three weeks ago and taken to an undisclosed location, with their abductors demanding a ransom of ₦100 million. Their freedom came following a tip-off from a previous victim who had paid ₦10 million in ransom and alerted the Amanyanabo of the Source, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, Dabaye Amakiri I.

The monarch, who also serves as CEO of Royal Fouche Security Services, promptly launched a rescue operation through his private security network. The daring mission led to the successful rescue of 19 out of 20 abducted victims. However, one victim, Nigerian Army Corporal Salisu Ibrahim, reportedly separated from the group earlier, remains missing.

Speaking to journalists during the official handover of the rescued victims to operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Da Amakiri Tubo condemned the act of kidnapping as “barbaric” and “unforgivable.” He assured that his team, in collaboration with federal security agencies, would pursue the perpetrators and ensure justice is served.

“No criminal hiding in our waterways will be spared. Rivers State will not be a safe haven for criminals,” he vowed, pointing to similar efforts that restored safety along the Emohua-Kalabari road.

The monarch also renewed his call for community collaboration and public vigilance. “These waters will be safe. We urge anyone with useful intelligence to come forward. The days of unchecked sea piracy are over,” he said.

One of the rescued boat drivers recounted the harrowing experience: “They told us Bonny people had paid and would be released first. We didn’t expect help. But the Amama Soldiers came like a miracle. May God bless the Amanyanabo.”

The victims, drawn from different states including Rivers, Bayelsa, Adamawa, Sokoto, Nasarawa, and Akwa Ibom, have since been handed over to security agencies for documentation and onward reunification with their families.
