President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar (Rtd.), a notable June 12 pro-democracy campaigner. Speaking during the commissioning of a 300-bed hospital and vocational institute in Kaduna, Tinubu described Umar as a “soldier of democracy” and apologized for his earlier omission from the list of June 12 honorees.
