Police Declare LGA Officials Wanted Over Attack On Sole Administrator
The Rivers State Police Command has officially declared two senior local government officials from Ahoada-East Local Government Area wanted for their alleged involvement in a violent attack on the Sole Administrator of the LGA, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor.
In a press statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the police named Mr. Hector Ekakita, Chief Security Officer (CSO), and Mr. Aloni Olodi, Chief of Staff (COS) of Ahoada-East LGA, as prime suspects in the case of criminal conspiracy, assault occasioning harm, stealing, and attempted murder.
The attack reportedly occurred on June 20, 2025, at the Ahoada-East Council Secretariat. According to police findings, the duo, alongside a group of about 30 unidentified individuals, allegedly launched a violent assault on Hon. Iheanachor, during which he sustained serious injuries and is still receiving medical treatment.
The suspects are also accused of forcefully obtaining the Sole Administrator’s signature under duress, stealing his mobile phones and confidential documents, and looting both personal and official property from his office.
Despite an earlier public notice and formal invitation for questioning, both Ekakita and Olodi failed to appear at the Police State Headquarters in Port Harcourt, prompting the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, to issue the wanted declaration.
The statement reads in part:
