Following the directive by Gov. Siminialayi Fubara, in a meeting recently held with all stakeholders that all his support groups be disbanded in the spirit of the peace brokered between him, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and the members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, through the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu due to the political crisis in the State, the National Leader of the Simplicity Movement, Amb. Sobomabo Jackrich had penultimate week formally dissolved the the Simplicity Movement(SM) and adopted the Rivers Grassroots Movement(RGM) in the presence of an unprecedented crowd that beseeched the scene of the event in Port Harcourt
He said, the decision was taken to sustain their support and commitment to the Governor, whom he described as a selfless and a peaceful Leader that was ready to embrace peace above every other thing.
He commended the President on his efforts to ensuring that the crisis was brought to a halt, thereby putting a stop to the political brouhaha that could have engulfed the State and possibly escalated to other parts of the Country.
He called on his supporters to remain resolute in their belief, saying that the decision to step down the now defunct SM and embracing the RGM, which he described as the Bigger Central Group was to cement the sustainable peace in the State, stressing that it did not amount to concession but to achieving peace and unity that would bring about the much needed development when Gov. Fubara would be reinstated.
Jackrich advised that people should reflect on the price paid for division and embrace peace, as it were necessary at this time. \"This moment demands deep reflection. Rivers State has paid a price for division. It is for this reason that peace, dialogue and reconciliation are not just desirable, they are necessary\".
