The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has extended warm birthday wishes to his predecessor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, as the former governor marks his 59th birthday today.
In a heartfelt tribute on behalf of the government and people of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Eno described Udom Emmanuel as a visionary and selfless leader, whose legacy continues to shape the trajectory of the state.
“Your life, Your Excellency, has been one of deep impact, of selfless service, of grace, and purpose,” Governor Eno wrote.
The statement, which was widely circulated on Friday morning, praised the former governor’s administration for laying the solid foundations of growth and peace that the current government is building upon. Governor Eno acknowledged that Emmanuel’s leadership choices and policies resonated deeply with the people and brought about enduring transformation in the state.
“Today, our state remains peaceful, the fundamentals of growth are on track, Akwa Ibom is rising and the future looks bright and hopeful,” he said.
Referring to Udom Emmanuel as his \"Political Father,\" Governor Eno expressed deep personal gratitude and admiration, noting that he continues to draw from the well of his predecessor’s wisdom and vision.
“As you turn 59, I pray for more robust health, wisdom, and spirit of discernment so we may continue to benefit from the fountain of your knowledge,” he added.
Mr. Udom Emmanuel served as Governor of Akwa Ibom State from 2015 to 2023.
