A yet to be identified man was electrocuted early Monday, July 14, while allegedly attempting to steal high-tension cables along New Airport Road near the Poultry Farm in Calabar South, Cross River State.

Eyewitnesses say the incident caused a brief power outage in the area, with the victim’s body discovered hanging from an electric pole. 

Officials from the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) and security agencies have since arrived at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full details of the incident.
