The Kaduna State Police Command has banned a planned birthday rally in honour of former presidential candidate Peter Obi, citing credible intelligence that criminal elements may hijack the event to incite violence.

According to a statement by DSP Mansir Hassan, the rally poses serious security threats and clashes with scheduled party primaries for an upcoming bye-election. The command warned that all political gatherings remain suspended in the state until INEC’s approved timeline.

Supporters have been urged to suspend the rally, with the police warning of legal consequences for any breach.
