The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the forthcoming Anambra State election, Jude Ezenwafor, has reportedly escaped an assassination attempt after being shot by suspected hoodlums.

Ezenwafor, who is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Abuja, is said to be preparing for a surgical procedure following the incident.

It was rumoured that the attack occurred on Friday night when gunmen accosted Ezenwafor around Wuse 2 in Abuja, resulting in a near-death experience.
