Former Senate President, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, in Daura.
Saraki, who served as the 13th President of the Nigerian Senate from 2015 to 2019, visited the deceased\'s family home to commiserate with them over the loss of the former leader. During the visit, he also spent time with Buhari’s nephew, Alhaji Mamman Daura, and proceeded to the graveside of the late president, where he offered prayers and paid his final respects.
In a statement shared via his official meta handle, Saraki expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and Nigerians at large, stating:
“Today in Daura, I paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former President, Muhammadu Buhari. I also spent some time with his nephew, Alhaji Mamman Daura, and took a moment to offer prayers and pay my respects at his graveside. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and with all Nigerians mourning his passing.”
The visit comes as part of a series of high-profile condolences pouring in from political figures across the country and beyond, reflecting the former president’s significant impact on Nigeria’s political and social landscape.
Muhammadu Buhari served as Nigeria’s Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and returned as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023.
