Police operatives, upon receiving the distress call, swiftly moved to the scene and rushed the injured student to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), where he was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Preliminary findings by the police indicate that the killing may be linked to an ongoing clash between rival cult groups on campus. The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered a full-scale investigation to track down and apprehend the perpetrators.

While expressing condolences to the family of the deceased, CP Adepoju reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to eradicating cult-related violence across the state. He urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement by sharing relevant information that could aid the investigation.
