Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the reported threat issued by Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, against Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, describing it as an attack on the collective democratic spirit of the nation.

Reacting to the development, Atiku stated firmly, “Let it be known that a threat against Peter Obi or any of us is a threat against ALL of us.” His comment underscores growing concerns over rising political intolerance and threats against opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While Governor Okpebholo’s threat remain under scrutiny, the statement has sparked outrage among supporters of the “Obidient” movement and other political actors who have demanded a retraction and public clarification.
