Ajudua, a lawyer and native of Ibusa in Delta State, has long been in the spotlight over multiple allegations of advance-fee fraud. He was previously accused by the EFCC of defrauding several foreign nationals of millions of dollars and euros in the early 2000s. The EFCC once linked him to at least twelve pending fraud cases, including a €1.6 million scam involving a German national and another case where a Canadian reportedly lost $250,000.

Despite spending time in Kirikiri and Agodi prisons, Ajudua has consistently faced a string of inconclusive court appearances. He was granted bail in 2005 to seek medical attention in India but was declared a fugitive in 2007 after allegedly evading arrest.
