President Bola Tinubu has honoured Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, with $100,000, national honours, and houses following their fifth consecutive AfroBasket championship win.

The President, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima during a dinner organised in honour of the team at the Aso Villa, applauded their 78–64 triumph over Mali. He praised the team\'s resilience, unity, and inspiration to Nigerian girls, hailing MVP Amy Okonkwo, top scorer Ezinne Kalu, and coach Rena Wakama for their exceptional contributions.
