The late Mr. Ifesinachi Onyekere, a well-known entrepreneur and Managing Director of Fish Magnet outlet, was a popular figure on social media, admired for his business acumen and inspiring content. He was reportedly kidnapped last week and tragically killed by his abductors, sparking widespread grief and outrage across online platforms and within the business community.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, the Police Command cautioned the influencer to refrain from making inflammatory remarks or engaging in activities that could stir tension, particularly in relation to the death of Mr. Ifesinachi Onyekere, the late Managing Director of Fish Magnet outlet.

The Police noted that the family of the deceased has publicly dissociated itself from any candlelight procession or memorial event being planned in his honour, calling for privacy as they mourn. The family also expressed confidence in the ability of the authorities to investigate and handle the matter appropriately.

CP Orutugu reiterated that Anambra remains one of the most peaceful states in the Southeast, crediting the sustained collaboration between security agencies and local stakeholders. He maintained that no individual, regardless of status or popularity, will be allowed to jeopardize the state’s hard-earned stability.

The Commissioner also urged the public to continue their daily activities without fear, assuring that the Police Command is fully committed to maintaining law and order.

He further advised social media influencers and users to act responsibly, warning that anyone found inciting violence or spreading misinformation—whether online or offline—would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
