The decoration ceremony, held at the IGP Smart Conference Room, Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House, Abuja, symbolized the Force’s unwavering commitment to rewarding hard work, professionalism, and dedication. The IGP praised the honourees for setting remarkable standards in policing and reiterated the Force Management Team\'s decision to recommend officers with exceptional performance—including those who win the Police Officer of the Year Award or IGP Commendation Award, or who win in any performance category for two consecutive years—for accelerated promotion.
“The doors of honour and recognition remain wide open to every officer who upholds excellence, discipline, and service integrity,” the IGP declared.
In a related development, the IGP also hosted a delegation of senior officials from the National Pension Commission (PenCom) and NPF Pensions Limited at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. The high-level interactive session focused on addressing pressing concerns over the welfare and retirement benefits of serving and retired police officers. Senior police officers from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police and above were in attendance.
Speaking after the session, the IGP expressed optimism that the various engagements and reforms being pursued would soon translate into tangible improvements in the post-service welfare of retired officers.
