Anambra State Police Command has announced the rescue of 13-year-old Anayo Stephen from Ubaha-Akparu community, Ideato LGA, Imo State, who was allegedly abducted in Imo but found in Anambra.

According to police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Anayo was taken on August 9, 2025, while fetching grass for goats. He told police that four men in a Hilux vehicle stopped him under the guise of asking for directions before allegedly abducting him to an undisclosed location.

The boy said he managed to escape while his captors slept in the bush, later meeting vigilante operatives at Ideani Junction, where he recounted his ordeal.

The police calls on well.meaming Nigerians to assist in sharing the boy’s photograph to help identify him and reunite him with his family.
