The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced a further extension of the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows, shifting the new enforcement date to October 2, 2025.
Force spokesperson DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said on Monday that the decision was approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, following a surge in applications through the official portal, https://possap.gov.ng.
According to the NPF, the extension will allow more time to carefully vet applications to ensure permits are granted only to eligible individuals, in line with national security considerations. It will also enable the continued fine-tuning of both digital and physical verification processes to maintain the integrity of the system and prevent abuse.
The police advised citizens to disregard any unofficial application channels and urged the public to report cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to the appropriate authorities via the hotline 08147818871.
The NPF expressed appreciation for public cooperation and reaffirmed its commitment to balancing convenience with strong security measures to ensure the safety of all Nigerians.
