President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renewal of Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa’s appointment as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC).

The reappointment, which will run for a second and final four-year tenure, is in line with Section 93 of the Electricity Act, 2023.

According to a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, President Tinubu charged Yelwa to build on the Commission’s achievements and inject greater innovation and dedication into fulfilling its mandate.

Yelwa, who first assumed the role in 2019, will continue to oversee N-HYPPADEC’s work in improving infrastructure, environmental management, and economic development in hydroelectric power-producing communities across Nigeria.
