The Police Service Commission (PSC) has cautioned Nigerians to disregard an online advert claiming that recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force for 2025 has begun, describing it as fake and misleading.

In a statement issued on Saturday, August 30, 2025, by the Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission stressed that it has not commenced the recruitment process and disowned the circulating advertorial.

The PSC urged interested applicants to be patient, noting that the official recruitment exercise will be announced soon and will bear the Commission’s official imprint. It assured that the 2025 recruitment will be conducted in a credible, transparent, and equitable manner.

The Commission also warned scammers behind the fake adverts to desist from their “dubious pastime” and advised Nigerian youths aspiring to join the Force not to fall victim.

Ani reiterated that the PSC is finalising arrangements for the recruitment exercise and appealed for calm and cooperation from prospective applicants.
