The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad.\r\n

The announcement was made in a statement by the Ministry of Interior’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.\r\n

The government congratulated Muslims and urged Nigerians to emulate the Prophet’s virtues of peace, love, humility, and tolerance. Citizens were also encouraged to pray for peace, security, and national unity.\r\n
