The Anambra State Police Command has dislodged and destroyed a militia camp belonging to the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Aguluezechukwu, Aguata Local Government Area.
The operation, carried out on September 2 by a police-led joint security force, involved troops from the 302 Artillery Regiment, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Anambra State Vigilante.
According to police spokesman SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the raid lasted over five hours, during which the camp was dismantled, several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered, and a white Lexus SUV was seized. Many militia members reportedly fled with gunshot wounds.
The police said the area has been stabilised, and efforts are ongoing to track down fleeing suspects. The command reassured residents of its commitment to fighting criminality and restoring peace in the state.\r\n
