The Bayelsa State Police Command has launched a manhunt for four girls accused of indecent assault, attempted murder, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and abduction of a 19-year-old, Nancy Wilfred, in Yenagoa.

Police spokesman Musa Mohammed said the case followed a petition from the victim, who alleged she was lured by friends on August 29, assaulted, stripped, beaten, and recorded on video. The suspects were initially arrested but reportedly released on bail, sparking public outrage.

Commissioner of Police Francis Idu confirmed that a full investigation is underway and appealed to the public to avoid sharing the video to protect the victim from further trauma. He assured that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.
