Israel has threatened to unleash what it described as the biblical “10 plagues of Egypt” on Yemen’s Houthi rebels following renewed missile strikes.
Defence Minister Israel Katz issued the warning on Thursday via his verified X account, after the Israeli army reported that a missile fired from Yemen landed outside Israel’s borders. The military also confirmed intercepting two other missiles a day earlier.
Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree claimed the rebels had targeted Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport with a ballistic missile. The Iran-backed group has stepped up attacks since an Israeli airstrike last week killed its prime minister and other senior officials.
Since the Gaza war began in 2023, the Houthis have repeatedly launched missiles and drones toward Israel, while Israel has responded with air raids on Houthi-controlled areas, escalating tensions in the region.\r\n
