Electrocution Death Indicates Rising Transformer Vandalism in Borno

 The Borno State Police Command has raised fresh concerns over the dangers of vandalism after an unidentified man was electrocuted near a transformer at Borno State University.

Preliminary investigations suggest the deceased was attempting to tamper with the electrical installation when the fatal incident occurred. His body was later recovered by the police in collaboration with the Borno State Fire Service and taken to a hospital for proper procedures.

Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, warned that acts of vandalism not only endanger perpetrators’ lives but also compromise the safety and stability of public infrastructure. He urged criminal elements to desist, stressing that the Command is intensifying surveillance to safeguard critical assets across the state.

Authorities also called on residents to remain alert and immediately report suspicious movements around power facilities and other vital infrastructure.
