Indications have emerged that the management of Dangote Group has agreed to allow workers at its refinery and petrochemical plant to join the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).
Sources at a recent meeting told Vanguard that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is currently being drafted for signing by both parties.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that discussions also included a proposed two-week timeframe for the implementation of the MoU.
If concluded, the agreement would formally integrate workers of the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals into NUPENG, strengthening labor representation in the nation’s largest privately owned energy facility.
