The Abia State Police Command has rescued a four-year-old girl suspected to have been stolen and later abandoned by unidentified persons in Mbutu, Isiala Ngwa.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, operatives discovered the child after the suspects allegedly fled upon sighting security personnel.
The girl, who is dark-complexioned, is said to be unable to clearly state her name or provide details of her family or place of origin.
The Command has urged parents, guardians, or relations whose child fits the description to visit the office of the Serious Crime Investigation Squad (SCISSORS) in Aba or contact the Police Public Relations Officer for further enquiries.
DSP Chinaka assured that investigations are ongoing to trace the child’s family and apprehend those behind the suspected abduction.
