Speaking on Television Continental, Obasa addressed questions about his political future, clarifying that while he has personal ambitions, final decisions will align with the all Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and collective strategy.

“Every politician has ambitions, but you get to a stage where you cannot determine what comes next. If you believe in the party structure, you understand that it’s about consultation, consensus, and leadership’s direction,” he said.

On whether he intends to pursue a fifth term as a legislator, Obasa replied, “Not really,” suggesting his focus may be shifting to higher political roles.

His comments come amid growing speculation about potential successors to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whose second term ends in 2027.

Obasa has been Speaker of the Lagos Assembly since 2015, representing Agege Constituency 1. A key APC figure, he has remained influential despite political challenges, including a brief removal and reinstatement as Speaker.\r\n
