The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has called on the Federal Government to adopt a firm position against Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), over his recent remarks directed at President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. The party described Sowore’s verbal attacks as disrespectful and potentially capable of inciting unrest if left unchecked.

According to the Rivers APC, Sowore’s statements undermine the authority of national leaders and could embolden others to engage in similar actions that threaten national unity and stability. The party stressed that while constructive criticism remains a vital part of democracy, inflammatory remarks disguised as opposition politics amount to reckless behavior. It urged the Federal Government to take decisive measures that would discourage further attempts at undermining the presidency and other senior officials.
