The Pentecostal movement in Nigeria mourns the passing of a humble and spiritual giant who devoted his life to selflessly serving others, guided by God\'s divine providence. He traveled extensively, sharing the Gospel\'s message of hope, deliverance, and salvation worldwide.

The late Rev Dr Uma Ukpai, a distinguished Nigerian evangelist and spiritual leader who passed away on 6th October 2025 at the age of 80, bequeathed an enduring legacy and spiritual giant stride that will require filling within the Nigeria Pentecostal Fellowship, having been instrumental in the formation of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai served as the founder and president of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA), a non-denominational gospel ministry and pioneer of the pentecostal movement. He sought to maintain unity within the body of Christ, sacrificing personal denominational affiliation as a bridge between different denominations through his evangelistic, prophetic, and crusade ministry spanning over 30 years. As a key financier of the pentecostal fellowship, the spiritual and medical outreach of the UUEA Evangelical Association extended extensively across the country, providing hope and support to the downtrodden, incarcerated, and displaced.

Rev Dr Uma Ukpai was a renowned field marshal in the crusade for Christ, who presided over the groundbreaking Greater Lagos for Christ Crusade of 1985 that paved the way for the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria. His numerous citywide crusades across Nigeria featured a multitude of miracles, healing, and deliverance, solidifying his position as a prophet of our time and leaving an enduring legacy on the world.

Rev Dr Uma Ukpai\'s lasting impact includes the Uma Ukpai Eye Centre and King of Kings Hospital, a specialist medical facility in Abia State serving communities in Abia, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States. He also established the Uma Ukpai School of Theology and Biblical Studies, Uyo, Uma Ukpai Polytechnic Asaga, Uma Ukpai Scholarship Foundation, and Joseph Business School, an affiliate of Joseph Business School, Chicago, USA, to enhance educational opportunities for the populace.
