Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have intercepted a vehicle loaded with substances suspected to be hard drugs during a stop-and-search operation in Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
The incident occurred on October 14, 2025, around Anguwan Malama, when the driver of an ash-coloured Toyota Solara with registration number KJA-108FY (Lagos) abandoned the vehicle and fled on sighting the troops. A search of the vehicle uncovered several bags of marijuana, now in military custody for further investigation.
The Force Commander, Major General Moses Gara, commended the troops for their vigilance and professionalism, reaffirming OPWS’s commitment to combating criminal activities and ensuring security across Benue, Nasarawa, and Taraba States.
