Dep. Senate President Barau Jibrin Mourns Late Senator Okey Ezea

Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Senator Okey Ezea, who represented Enugu North Senatorial District. Senator Ezea passed away in Lagos on Tuesday after a brief illness.

In a condolence statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau described the late lawmaker as a pan-Nigerian politician whose contributions to national unity and development were remarkable.

Ezea, a lawyer and businessman, was elected on the Labour Party platform during the 2023 general elections. Until his passing, he served as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa and NEPAD, as well as the Senate Committee on Culture and Creative Economy.

Senator Barau praised his dedication to legislative service and noted that his death is a great loss to the Senate and the nation at large.
