The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has debunked a viral graphic falsely claiming that HIV prevalence in Port Harcourt has risen to 86%.

The Ministry described the circulating post as fabricated, noting that no state in Nigeria has an HIV prevalence rate close to the figures quoted. Officials emphasized that the message did not originate from the Ministry and bears no resemblance to its official communication format.

The Ministry urged Nigerians to disregard the misinformation, avoid spreading unverified health claims, and rely only on accredited sources such as NASCP, NACA, and official Ministry channels for credible data.
