PMAN Rivers State Warns Public About Alleged Fake Appointments

The Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Rivers State Chapter, has issued a strong warning to the public over what it describes as illegal appointments being circulated by a group of individuals claiming to represent the association.

In a press release dated November 24, 2025, the chapter’s Governor, Comr. Moses Olusegun Mabadeje (Mozy-B), clarified that he and the duly elected executive council remain the only recognized leadership of PMAN in Rivers State.

According to the statement, several persons have recently been parading themselves as newly appointed officers of the chapter. PMAN Rivers State emphasized that these claims are false and have not been approved by the legitimate leadership.

The association went further to publish the names of the individuals allegedly making the unauthorized claims, along with the positions they claim to hold:

Mercy Reginald Otuene (Sista Mercy) – Administrator

John Egwin Nwokorie (Jahbest) – Secretary

Uche Willy Thompson (Utunee) – Deputy Administrator

Dr. Joy Nwenenda Nwachukwu (Joylissful) – Treasurer

Victor Effiong (Maestro Vic) – Public Relations Officer

Asinye Brown – Provost 1

Augustine Oban Gomba (G1) – Provost 2

Joseph Worlu – Welfare Officer 1

Ukot Flag Prince (Flag P) – Financial Secretary 

PMAN noted that none of these individuals holds any legitimate office within the association.

“Any body that deals with these illegal appointees, does that at their own risk,” the statement warned. 

The chapter leadership urged musicians, stakeholders, and the general public to verify information directly from the recognized PMAN Rivers State office to avoid falling victim to misinformation or fraudulent claims.

With the rising visibility of PMAN activities in Rivers State, the association says it is committed to maintaining transparency, proper leadership structure, and protection of its members’ interests.
