In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the Command said the circulating video and accompanying commentary were “entirely false, misleading, and crafted by mischief-makers aiming to disturb the peace and stability Rivers State currently enjoys.”

The Command clarified that no part of Rivers State has recorded any Fulani herdsmen attack, nor has any such incident been reported to security formations across the state.

“This narrative is completely fabricated,” the Police declared, warning that such falsehoods could create needless tension, inflame ethnic sentiments, and disrupt the state’s atmosphere of relative calm.

According to the statement, the Command continues to maintain strong security architecture, including active patrol teams, surveillance units, and tactical squads working round the clock in synergy with other security agencies.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to transparent and accountable policing, urging residents to remain vigilant but avoid sharing unverified content that may escalate fear.

The Police advised the public to always rely on official channels for credible information.

The statement was signed by SP Grace Iringe-Koko, Police Public Relations Officer, Rivers State Command.
