Kaka Igbokwe, former manager of legendary singer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia and son of the late Christy Essien-Igbokwe, has confirmed the authenticity of the old yet freshly-circulating video showing the Afrobeats star being arrested in London after a heated confrontation with his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru.

The incident reportedly occurred on October 2, 2025, during the couple’s trip to the United Kingdom for a concert tour. 2Baba had missed a scheduled show that day, sparking rumours that he was detained following a quarrel with Natasha, who is also a member of the Edo State House of Assembly.

Speaking during an Instagram Live session with Daddy Freeze on Thursday evening, Igbokwe—who travelled with the couple—said “everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true.” He narrated that Natasha became upset after landing at the airport when 2Baba, surrounded by fans, walked ahead into a shop, leaving her behind. Realising she was stranded, the singer rushed back, but the argument escalated, culminating in his arrest and being handcuffed by UK officers.

The video resurfaced online on December 1 after blogger Tosin Silverdam posted what he described as “new evidence” showing police engaging 2Baba at Gatwick Airport. The clip reignited a controversy many believed had been resolved after 2Baba previously denied the arrest, insisting he had missed the concert due to a medical emergency.

Fresh chatter erupted as the resurfaced footage circulated across Instagram and X, with commentators analysing screenshots of the moment officers led the singer away and another clip showing the altercation with Natasha, which Silverdam described as triggered by “jealousy.”

The re-emergence of the video has revived an already lingering debate within the entertainment community and online spaces.
