The Super Eagles have arrived in Marrakech as preparations intensify for their crucial AFCON 2025 quarter-final clash against Algeria’s Desert Foxes.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Nigerian delegation landed at the Marrakech–Menara Airport at about 4:14 p.m. on Thursday, following a one hour, 14-minute flight from Fès–Saïs Airport.

The team is camped at the Savoy Le Grand Hotel in Marrakech, which will serve as their base throughout the remainder of the tournament.

Speaking to NAN, Super Eagles Media Officer, Promise Efoghe, confirmed that the journey was smooth and that attention has now shifted to recovery and tactical preparation for the encounter.

“We had a smooth trip from Fès despite the tight schedule. The focus now is on recovery and preparation,” Efoghe said.

He explained that all media activities earlier scheduled for Thursday were deferred to allow the players adequate rest after their arrival.

“Given the late arrival, the players requested time to rest, and we urge everyone to respect that decision,” he added.

Efoghe assured that updates on the team’s programme, including matchday-minus-one (MD-1) activities, would be communicated in due course.

NAN also reports that the Super Eagles are expected to train at the Grande Stade Annex 2 from 6 p.m., subject to confirmation, with media access restricted to the mandatory 15 minutes in line with tournament regulations.

Nigeria will take on Algeria in the quarter-final fixture at the Stade de Marrakech, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.
