Kano Governor Condemns Killing of Mother, Six Children, Orders Manhunt for Suspects

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has condemned the gruesome killing of a 35-year-old woman, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in the Dorayi Chiranchi area of the state, describing the act as barbaric, senseless and a grave violation of human dignity.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin Tofa, the governor expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and extended his condolences to the bereaved family, residents of Dorayi Chiranchi, and the entire people of Kano State.

Governor Yusuf prayed that Allah grants eternal rest to the victims and gives their family and loved ones the strength to bear the painful loss.

The governor also vowed that those responsible for the killings would be brought to justice. He directed the Kano State Police Command to immediately commence a manhunt for the perpetrators and ensure their arrest and prosecution.

According to the statement, Yusuf further instructed the Kano State Neighbourhood Corps to intensify patrols and strengthen community surveillance in vulnerable areas across the state to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

He appealed to residents to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies and promptly report any suspicious activities, while assuring them of his administration’s commitment to the protection of lives and property in the state.
