Troops of the Operation HADIN KAI have intensified efforts to cripple terrorist logistics and financing networks in the North East, recovering about ₦37 million suspected to be linked to terrorism funding during coordinated operations.

The Joint Task Force (North East) said the renewed push followed recent successful defensive engagements in Pulka and Madara-Girau, with troops transitioning into deliberate “logistics strangulation” operations aimed at dismantling terrorist supply and sustainment structures across the theatre.

In a statement issued on Monday, the military said the operations were designed to deny terrorists freedom of movement while systematically disrupting their supply routes and financial lifelines.

On February 16, 2026, troops of Sector 1, working alongside vigilante forces, carried out a night ambush along a known terrorist crossing route frequently used by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters moving from the Cameroon axis into Nigeria.

According to the statement, the terrorists ran into effective enfilade fire from concealed troop positions and were forced to retreat in disarray. Subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of a cache of critical logistics items believed to be meant for terrorist resupply operations, significantly disrupting their sustainment capacity and operational reach.

Troops were said to have maintained control of the area while conducting further exploitation operations to consolidate the gains.

In a related operation, troops at the Forward Operating Base, Chabbal Checkpoint, intercepted a suspicious vehicle with five occupants. A detailed search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of approximately ₦37,000,000 concealed in bags, along with several mobile phones suspected to be connected to terrorist financing and coordination activities.

The military described the interception as a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle financial channels supporting terrorist logistics and operations in the region.

“These coordinated operations demonstrate a proactive strategy of tightening the noose on terrorist supply chains by simultaneously targeting physical movement corridors and financial enablers,” the statement said, adding that sustained pressure on key routes and support networks is aimed at weakening terrorist groups and limiting their ability to regenerate combat power.

The Military High Command commended the professionalism, vigilance and resilience of the troops, as well as the support of collaborating security agencies, noting that morale and operational efficiency remain high.

Operation HADIN KAI, the military assured, remains resolute in its mandate to frustrate terrorist ambitions and restore lasting peace and economic stability across Nigeria’s North East region.
