European football governing body UEFA has named Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen in its Champions League Team of the Week following the conclusion of Wednesday’s Round of 16 playoff second-leg fixtures.
Osimhen earned the recognition after a commanding display for Galatasaray, where he played a decisive role in helping the Turkish champions seal qualification for the Champions League Round of 16.
The Nigerian striker was selected alongside Alexander Sørloth, who delivered a sensational hat-trick for Atlético Madrid in their emphatic victory over Club Brugge.
UEFA’s elite lineup also features several standout performers from across Europe, including midfield enforcer Aurélien Tchouaméni and dynamic wing-back Davide Zappacosta, both of whom impressed in their respective ties.
