The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has expressed shock over the sudden death of its newly re-elected Assistant Publicity Secretary, Karamo Yesiro, barely 24 hours after emerging victorious at the party’s state congress.
Yesiro was re-elected during the Lagos State APC Congress held at Onikan Stadium in Lagos but reportedly passed away shortly afterwards, just as preparations were underway for the inauguration of the new state executive members at the party secretariat.
Reacting to the development, the Lagos APC described the incident as a tragic and painful loss to the party. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, said the late chieftain died at a time when his dedication and commitment to progressive politics were most needed.
Oladejo noted that Yesiro had just been entrusted with a fresh mandate to serve in the party’s State Executive Council, describing him as a loyal member who firmly believed in the ideals and vision of the APC.
According to him, although his tenure was abruptly cut short, Yesiro left a memorable impact on party members and colleagues through his humility, enthusiasm and readiness to serve.
“He was a vibrant party man whose contributions to the growth and stability of the APC in Lagos State will not be forgotten,” Oladejo said.
The party leadership also extended condolences to the deceased’s family, friends and political associates, praying for strength for them to bear6yyy the loss.
The Lagos APC added that it remained united in mourning the sudden passing of the party official, noting that Yesiro would be remembered for his service, commitment and belief in the progressive cause.
