President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday joined King Charles III in a ceremonial carriage procession to Windsor Castle, marking the start of a historic state visit to the United Kingdom.
The President and the British monarch rode together in the Australian State Coach, while Queen Camilla and Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, followed in the Scottish State Coach.
The procession to Windsor Castle formed part of the formal reception ceremonies held in honour of the Nigerian leader, underscoring diplomatic ties between both nations.
The visit is particularly significant as it represents the first state visit by a Nigerian leader to the United Kingdom in 37 years, highlighting renewed engagement and cooperation between Abuja and London.
The colourful display of royal pageantry drew attention from onlookers and symbolised the enduring relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
