The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has felicitated with residents of Abuja, particularly Muslim faithful, on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the Ramadan fast.

In a goodwill message to residents, the minister congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan, describing the holy month as a period of spiritual renewal, self-reflection, and devotion.

He urged residents to sustain the values of compassion, forgiveness, and unity imbibed during the fasting period, noting that such virtues are essential for peaceful coexistence in the nation’s capital.

Wike called on citizens to use the festive period to pray for Nigeria and its leaders, expressing hope for continued peace and progress across the country.

The minister commended the spirit of generosity and harmony demonstrated by both Muslims and non-Muslims during Ramadan, saying it reflects Abuja’s status as the nation’s centre of unity, peace, and harmony.

Ahead of political activities expected to precede the 2027 general elections, Wike assured residents that the FCT Administration would provide a conducive environment for the conduct of campaigns and other related events.

He also appealed to residents to remain law-abiding and maintain peaceful conduct regardless of political, ethnic, or religious differences.

The minister expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said has improved socio-economic conditions and strengthened security in the FCT.

Wike reassured residents of the commitment of security agencies to ensure a safe and orderly celebration, urging them to go about their activities without fear.

He reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property while transforming Abuja into a world-class capital city.

The minister concluded by praying for acceptance of the fast, prayers, and good deeds of the Muslim faithful, wishing them a joyful and blessed Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
